I think about pokemon in non-battle situations a lot. Like pokemon who have been trained/raised to be helpers and assistants than to be battle partners.

Pokemon visiting hospitals to cheer patients up like dogs and cats do. Or ones that help kids learn to read, speak, swim, go through therapy?! Even pokemon who’s abilities help owners with specific disabilities?!

I love thinking of pokemon outside of battle situations.

Service Pokemon!

SERVICE POKEMON!!!!

gender norms are whack and pointless and if you doubt this fact, i have a story for you

there was this old lady across the street from me with two dogs just like our dog Dazzle (same breed, bichon frises) and sometimes our dogs would play together and it was great, but she would start hitting her dogs when they were trying to go to the bathroom if they didn’t lift up one leg to pee “because boy dogs are suppose to do that”

and if you don’t think that’s whack than i don’t know what to do with you because dogs don’t know what the frick gender norms are and will shit all over you however they want and if you hit a dog for not sticking to your ill conceived gender norms then you are absolute trash

Does it bother anyone else thinking about the new HM/Story of Seasons games coming out?

My understanding is that Natsume and Marvelous (the Japanese creators of Bokujyou Monogatari/what we know as the Harvest Moon series) broke it off, which is why we’re getting two separate games: HM: the Lost Valley and Story of Seasons (to be released in the U.S. by XSeed). Natsume owns the rights to the title “Harvest Moon” which is why they can put their own game out though this is the not the Harvest Moon/Bokujou Montogatari we’ve come to know. Thus, the new Harvest Moon game technically has no affiliation with the rest of the games we’ve been playing.

I’m curious to see, with this information, what game will you peoples buy?

Knowing they’re not the same company makes some sense to me, seeing as the Lost Valley looks hella low quality animation wise in comparison to Story of Seasons. I think i’m gonna end up buying only SoS, but I wanted to see if knowing this affected anyone else’s decision to buy.

So, what do you guys think?

Thanks for the reply!!! I hadn’t heard of the alternative title, HM: Connect to a New World so that actually sounds kind of cool. But yeah, totally agree with all your sentiments. It’s weirdly uncomfortable having them use Harvest Moon as their title even tho it’s not, well, Harvest Moon but I guess we will have to get use to it.

SOS is definitely looking like a more likely purchase for me, but I think I’ll keep my ears open for the lost valley just in case there are any announcements that might change my mind.

Gold Rogers’ Critique Updates: Postponing

Heads up to anyone interested in the One Piece review series I was working on: I’ve decided to post pone my reviews until next summer for a variety of reasons.

Above all, next summer I’ll should be able to actually read and speak at least some Japanese. This is important becuz 1. research and 2. research done by actual Japanese citizens.  I will continue posting in the GRC tag of mine. For more explanation, read under the cut.

Next posts should be regarding my ‘working bibliography’ of sources I’ve read, so heads up for that!
